New York is AWESOME!!

Today we did the three things New York is known for: museums, shopping and good food later than usual.

We began the day arriving at the Met about noon. (our days are skewed). After seeing the Hatshepsut exhibit I turned Katt and Victoria loose to see what ever they wanted and Cindy and I stayed together. The armour exhibit was excellent as was the British clothing exhibit. I particularly enjoyed the room contrasting the restrained elegance of the beau Brummel look with punk fashion. Both were in responce to fashion excesses of their time and quite revolutionary. We also tasted some modern art, crafts, Rapheal. And found ourselves lost everytime we attempted to get somewhere else. By 5 when the museum closed we were done for so we went shopping!! at H&M (a upscale discount store) A goodtime was had and by the time we left it was pouring ( the first day we hadn't carried our umbrellas) but we walked since cabs were not plentiful and we were only 4 blocks away by foot. We changed and went out for dinner by which time the rain was only sprinkles.
